Tim Shultz is organizing this year's D2C event and, since I live in Durango, am helping out. This is the official MyE28 thread for the event.
Details are still being sorted but mark your calendars for the first weekend of August 2025. If the event goes similarly to last year's the agenda will be something like this:
Friday, August 1 2025 - Folks arrive in town. Evening meet & greet at Gruntled HQ (my garage in Durango, next door to the Durango Brewery) with food, bevs, cargo pants, and car-related discussions.
Saturday, August 2, 2025 - Meet early in the AM at Durango Cars & Coffee for show & shine and then drive. Last year there were several drives people could choose from.
Saturday evening, August 2, 2025 - Dinner somewhere.
I haven't been super involved in years due to family commitments and young children. Tim has coordinated things the past few years. I need to identify if it is feasible or not. Would be cool to be able to finally meet Charlie and Dan as well.
I'm looking forward to it. I just need to figure out how much boost I want to be running for a 500 mile road trip. Especially in consideration of the kind of shenanigans that are likely to occur along the way,

Easy answer, not as much as you'd like to. Driving home is cool, towing home sucks.
This is a great opportunity to do some parts swapping and score a 100% discount on shipping.
I can think of a number of things I could use in case someone has spares they would like to part with, and I do have a head that needs to get to the west coast.
After so many years of nonsense, arguments, and general shitposting, you're going to have to pat 'em down for weapons.
I could see an arrangement where you charge attendees $10 to throw a pie at yours truly. If it's Key Lime, that's all I need. You can keep all the money.
There are still a few rooms available here and there. I booked a night at the Caboose Motel.
I don't know which way the TX caravan is going to go but if yall are taking the last leg to the north west on highway 550, let me know when and I'll hitch my caboose on back.

Ahhh, the memories...
There will be 3 of us staying in Albuquerque Thursday night.
