This is being sold local to me... While well out of the price range of most I know, I thought it was too cool not to share.

I'm going to check this car out today. Did they make a sport package e39 without sport seats and a 140mph cluster?

Mine is a '00 sport package with regular seats and a 140 mph speedo if that matters.

Fair enough. Just curious as I thought that sports seats was a given and my 2001 530i had a 160mph speedo.

This 535i has low miles and has a Turbo Charging Dynamics m30 Stage 2 Turbo Kit Upgrade.

Read more about the kit here.
http://turbochargingdynamics.com/?wpsc- ... tage-2-kit

This kit includes the following and more
High pressure fuel pump
Big fat turbo Produces about 180+ HP boost
14 lbs waste gate
Water/Air Intercooler
Rising Rate BEGI Fuel regulator

In addition to this it has the following tasteful upgrades
Bilesten shocks B8 Performance Plus Shocks and Strut Kit
Powerflex purple Bushing front and rear suspension
KMAC Stage 3 Camber/Caster Plate
KMAC Rear Adjustable Camber/Toe Bushings
E34 M5 Drilled and vented brakes front and back
Semi Racing Clutch
Ireland Engineering Sway bar kit
Bavarian Autosport Front Stress Bar
UUC EVO3 Short Shift Kit with DSSR
Limited Slip Differential

And some sick wheels and tires.
Beyern Spartan 17"x 10"
Continental 235/45 ZR

Everything in the car works great. The power is amazing and the handling is like it rides on rails.

There is one problem. It runs rich. I have tried just about everything I can think of. I have replaced pretty much everything there is related to fuel management. I just can not figure it out. The only down side with it running rich is that the idle is pretty low.

Happy to answer questions about the car and how great it is to drive.

I’m curious what his mechanic charged to replace the timing belt.

That said, it does look very nice.

Looks nice except for we have no clue what the interior looks like. One picture of the shifter?? It looks like there is tape on the passenger seat. That doesn't make it a POS by any means but just show the interior for crying out loud. A person interested is going to want to see it so why make them ask? Guess I'm spoiled by some of the ads on this forum that are super detailed and pic heavy.

Timing belt reference is a red flag, no interior pics sans the taped passenger seat, mis-matched wheels, the driver's side front bumper almost looks like it's bent up suggesting an accident (but could just be the angle), looks like it has definitely been repainted. I'd be careful when looking at this one.

I was interested in this 1988 535i and I had friend look at back in January.
Mechanically it was sound. No shimmy, good brakes, shifting was fine, and the engine was strong.
As far as cosmetics are concerned. It had a MAACO paint job that was of average quality. Overspray noted on the sunroof gasket.
The paint is starting to crack. The front valance was wired and I also questioned the crooked front bumper. The owner denies any accidents.

The interior was fair. All the electronics worked well.
Overall, it's not a bad car but does need some TLC to make it nice.

For sale is an all original beautiful example of an e28 M5. I have owned it since 2005 and has been kept indoors, covered and has been lovingly serviced with all my BMWs by whom I think is by SE Michigan's premier German auto service center, Karl Heinz in Royal Oak. The car has never been painted or modified. Everything on the car is in working order, except there is a leak somewhere in the AC, as I fill it each spring when I bring the car out of storage and need to fill it the following spring.
