I was thinking about possibly (remote possibility here) doing black under dash panels, shifter console and e-brake console, then replacing the tan plastic around the door cards with black and doing black armrests, etc. Leave everything else the same. I think it would be interesting.

I think that would look good. If you don't like it, you can always swap it right back
There is a short shifter available that has the "T" handle lockout. They go for over $500. Also remember this is a four speed, top loader. A dinky short-shifter may not cut it for changing the gears in a timely manner.

Yea, you noticed that. One of the POs ruined the face of the tach by painting over the OEM red arch and added his own ham-fisted red line around 5.5K. The only way to fix it is to have the face re-screened. Just buying another one is really not cost effective - they go for over $300.

You need black floor mats and I think it'd make a huge difference! Also consider making the headliner black.. Both of those additions might equal out the colors enough to make it work!

thank i was thinkin of installing black carpet. an seeing what every one thinks. if its still a no go im just gooing all black. but thank you for the idea.
