M5 water pumps are different

Posing this to the experts here for confirmation. Is it correct that M5 water pumps are different from the standard M30 pumps? BavAuto lists a pump for the M5 @ $180 and then down below that lists one for M30s significantly cheaper and says it is ok for street use on M5s.

I installed the M30 water pump last year. Seems to be adequate. I don't drive the car too much and it doesn't get very hot in the summers in the mountains of NC.

It would surprise me if the S38 pump does not have more flow. Does Stewart make one?

I checked. They don't. Would be nice if they did.

I found it kind of funny that they mention that the front of the ones that they do make look stock but they only list them for E36s or later. Why would anyone with an E36 or later care if it looked stock?

I received the $190 water pump from BavAuto today and it is exactly the ame as the $50 pump I got from Waterpump warehouse. Same brand (GMP) and the exact same part # on the box and pump. I will be returning it to BavAuto tomorrow. Geez!
