I don't get the opportunity to have my car shot by a decent photographer around Spokane, so I jumped at the chance when I got a text today from a friend with nothing better to do. We found a quiet rode on the Fort Mukagawa campus....

Yeah, those are US bumpers (slightly) tucked.

Got that RAKE goin' on!! A little more low in the back would be nice, but since I haul kids around from time to time, I like a bit of suspension travel so as I don't shoot the shocks up into the trunk. Next time I'll try to "squat" the rear using the ole clutch-n-ebrake trick

Does tucking your bumper reduce the function (purpose) of the bumper at all? What I am trying to ask is, in case of an accident, will there be any additional negative outcomes due to the tucking of the bumpers?

Yes. Tucking pretty much eliminates the 5mph protection that the US spec bumper shocks provide. This might not seem like much, but speed is exponential, so a 10mph impact does more than "twice" as much as a 5mph impact. I was rearended in my car in May. No damage was done. It was a very low impact that just pushed the rear bumper in.

I'd been searching for about a year before I found this vintage piece. Not sure if was intended for it, but it's ceramic on metal and I paid $11 shipped. It was exactly what I was looking for.
I like the subtle stuff that looks like it could be stock. I have a completely original interior color combination, but most people don't even notice as it looks like it should have come that way. Things like that make me happy.
