How much HP? *Supercharged/Suspension/Exhaust/Brakes - Done*

Post by John SCB »

I've just decided on 466HP with 439TQ.

Can you guess what it is?
:D

Stay tuned.

I don't have to guess because Darin already spilled the beans. Midlife crisis' can be expensive.

Yep. Giving the exact HP/TQ figures should have made it easy to find.

I had to tell him. After all, he's one of the two E28 guys that agreed to help with the installation. He also knows I've been wanting to do this for at least 5 years now.

The kit has been purchased and is ready to go in the car. It was more expensive than the Roush, Kenne Bell and others but I did plenty of research before pulling the trigger on this blower.

I plan on doing a full installation video. Here are a few pictures of what we're starting with:

Pictures/videos will be posted during the install at my house on July 1-2.

I am stoked.

I'm trying like hell to tell myself I'm happy with my (admittedly paltry) e2i swap. I'm gonna hold off on the turbo as long as I can. The car still puts a childish grin on my face when I dog it. When that starts to wear off, I'll start putting the turbo bits together.

Oh, and congrats on the purchase, it should be a load of fun

You are going from 11.61 lb/HP to 7.47 lb/HP....it's gonna be a different animal.

I wish I was close as I would love to help install those nice shiny new parts.

Plan on lots of new rubber.......... congratulations!

I love the two significant figures, as if there's that level of precision. Blown Mustang should be fun.

You guys always make me feel lame that I'm perfectly content with the 255hp in my E90 and I only feel that Bandit could use a slight bump. That's also probably why I like the M30B35 so much- it feels like it has the perfect amount of power for the 80s cars.

I do enjoy seeing and riding in the super powerful cars though. I just don't have the desire to own one myself.

Enough HP is not nearly enough, too much is almost enough. For a while. Eventually too much is not nearly enough again.

Went out last night in the ///M5 with the wifey to get a desert
and take a short drive afterwards.
She asked, "Why do you need this much power"?
I just looked at her and :D.

For those that would have preferred a boost to the BMW, my first choice was to turbocharge the E34. It was impossible to find an appropriate setup that was CARB legal for CA. I even asked KSK to get me the Alpina B10 kit...they recommended against it...too many problems for CA.

Actually, the most fun I've ever had involved exactly one horsepower. Going cross country over fences at a full gallop back in my competing days. No seat belt or air bags, just reins, a saddle, and a set of stirrups.
