MS2 or MS3

Post by SilverBullet »

Been reading about MS for ages and looking into it for my turbo build (m30b35 and TCD rhd kit). It seems as though everyone is pretty happy with MS2, bugs all sorted out, good idle, straight forward tuning, an overall reliable unit. Seeing MS3 has come out with its sequential injection and timing, is it really going to be worth it? How much of a better tune is going to be able to be obtained? Are LS2 COP any better then GM wasted spark setup? Is it going to yield any more power?
Cheers

Unless you really want to spend the xtra $, just go with msII. It'll do everything you need it to.

unless you are running ungodley huge injectors sequential is not required, if you run a motronic 1.3 harness (m30b35 6 series or late 528e super E engine are easiest as they plug and play with the car) you have semi sequential (odd & even) capability built in and thats good enough, MSII has two injector drivers and can be made to alternate squirts, like my m20 is running alternating and 6 squirts per, you can't even hear the 32# injectors they are so smooth and spread out

Thanks for the replys guys.
Been thinking bout it and come to the decision that all the extra stuff isnt going to be worth the extra $ and hassle, plus the support in aus. isn't as good if something does go wrong/i stuff something up and find it hard to diagnose
cheers

Good choice. You are not likely to see any improvement in power going from wasted spark to COP.

I've heard of some power and economy gains being had with sequential injection though because you lose your fuel out of the exhaust when an injector fires while the intake valve is open. I know this seems odd.
