He pointed out a faint insignia on my caliper that did look like a "b" I know our brakes are not mono block units but they sure look like they are huh? I had a gas station conversation today w/ an elderly German man who claimed he used to be an engineer for BMW M back in the 70's. He really knew his stuff and was admiring my car.
He mentioned that the front brake calipers for our M5s were source or designed by Brembo. take a look at the last photo in this previous post... there is no question they are ATE calipers.
