E34 530i 93 M62B44 V8 & 5spd pics and video's ,dyno resu

brough this project car a little while ago , finally got around to sorting it out .
previous owner had brough this e34 93 530i v8 auto with a stuffed engine in it .
he brought a cheap M62B35 engine locally
then brought a 5spd v8 box in from the states and new JB leight weight ali flywheel and new clutch etc .
fitted it allup in this car but couldn't get the engine to run on the m62 ecu as he hadn't done his research properly and hadn't fitted (didn't have) all the ews chip key stuff into it .
then they proceded to try to run the v8 on a link ecu etc
then never got it running on that as well .
then i brought it off them with the intension of just using the 5spd v8 box , fitting a 3L v8 and auto (or 4l v8 and auto)back in and flicking off the car .
my plan was to use a M62b44 v8 and 5spd in a e36 coupe etc .
but gave up on that idea ,.
i managed to get the 3.5L v8 running in about 2hours after just refitting a std m60 engine loom a 3l ecu etc .

later on a whipped out the 3.5L v8 and fitted a 4.4L v8 i had sitting around .

got the car all cleaned up , road legal etc .
goes quite well .
just running it on a 4l m60 ecu at the moment (will be getting it remapped to suit the 4.4L soon)

still has the 3L v8 rear muffler etc which i plan to change to rear section from a e32 750i
has no front cats just straight pipes .

had the ecu remapped by gavin at hi-velocity today




got pretty good results .

490Nm and 190.6kw at the wheels.
maybe more there if i open up the rear of exhaust system.

good torque from 2000rpm .

started off with 183kw and 480nm before tunning it

std e34 540i are about 150-160rwkw
std e39 540i are about 160-170rwkw
std e39 m5 225kw
measured on the same dyno

hi just a quick update
changed the grey cloth seats for black leather sport seats with fold down dulux arm rests fitted and black door cards with wood trim etc
also fitted a jvc dvd , usb ,ipod control , blutooth stereo and extra screen etc.
upgraded the rear speakers , yet to add and amp and sub

Nice project and great result! I have also a Calypso Red bmw E34 530i (m60b30) with only 95000km manual 5speed and al the history/maintenance.
The engine runs great but i want some more power and also want to swap for a M60B40,M62B44,M62TUB44 i dont figure that out yet.

Can the M62B44 run with the orginal M60B30 gearbox,wireloom,ecu? Its also possible swap for the m62tub44 x5 engine?
Im afraight the wireloom wont fit becouse there are different sensors,ews key system,...

2months ago i have done an engineswap E39 520i manual and fit in a E39 528i engine with the 520i,wireloom,ecu and it runs great.

Hope you can give me some advice for my swap
