I've got 2 of 'em, an m106 and m30, and haven't had any problems other than the 180k mile k27 failing on the m106. the m30 was rebuilt at ~200k during the turbo installation and hasn't been apart since 2008.(other than a valve adjustment) I've had tuning issues with megasquirt, but for the most part that was also a build it, install it, tune it and drive it kind of deal.L_N_Love wrote:Don't you guys get frustrated with all of the FI problems that you suffer?
The only problem I suffer from is wanting more and more from the m30; bigger cam, bigger turbo- stuff like that!

I always have an admiration for those that keep an S38 alive. It's a pure thoroughbred, whereas my turbo'd M30 is a pure work horse and part time aspiring beast.L_N_Love wrote:Another thought... Those of us that are still running S38s are keeping a bit of the Motorsport tradition alive. There is no fault in that.
I admire what you guys do with turbos. I'm sure they are a blast to drive and certainly are the most economical way to have big power.demetk wrote:I always have an admiration for those that keep an S38 alive. I think 5-7 lbs would just be a hoot and easily take the engine into the ~600 HP area.
