It is black. A big patch of sunlight below the frame there must have thrown off the color on the picture.

Never shipped a dash before, and I couldn't guarantee that it would make the long road trip without being damaged.

Found a source to ship to west coast via UPS for $96.

Open a fedex account and ship it for about $60.
The key is to have an account, and its free to open one.
I've shipped an e30 dash to CA and iirc, it was quite cheap via fedex ground.
An e28 dash is just a little larger, and although the package is large, it weighs very little.

57" is the cutoff, after that, the cost goes up quick.
