Ive searched ad nauseam through the forum and Google for this info, and still havn't managed to find what i'm after.
The issue is the C103 connection between my existing eta harness and the m106 harness im installing. Ive concluded that:
In the m106 c103
The black wire is the engine speed signal for the tach
The white is for the mpg indicator
The green wire is the "ignition on" signal (activates the main relay)
Ive spliced the black to black, and the white to white/black however the green is what im stuck with. The eta has a 5 pin connector, one black, one black/white, one green, one blue/green and one brown/green (from memory), so would it be safe to assume the green wires splice? What are the other two from the eta for, and do i need to accommodate for those also?
525e c103 question

Pretty sure the green wire is to the main relay. If on the body side connector the green wire powers up and if on the harness side connector it has continuity to the main relay, you're good to go.Das_Prachtstraße wrote:Ive searched ad nauseam through the forum and Google for this info, and still havn't managed to find what i'm after.

Blue/green is used for idle control on the eta, so unless your using the eta's idle circuit, I wouldn't worry about it. I always liked my 745's manual idle control valve.
Not sure about the brown/green wire.

Cheers, yeah i won't be running the ICV, so that's good to know. I'll splice the the two green wires in, and once the c101 is also sorted start my inevitable trouble shootingdemetk wrote:Pretty sure the green wire is to the main relay. Thankyou!
That green wire has me confused. I have a motronic 1.3 swap in my eta and that green wire now powers the OBC correction module. The car works fine without it. So if it a feed to the main relay or to wake up the ECU as Turbodan once sugested to me then in mine it appears not to do that. In my 525e I only have three wires in the C103, the tach wire, speedo wire and the green one. So those extra wires must be for options I don't have in mine. The only options I don't have that it could be is Aircon, cruise and check control.
That probably does not help much.
