euro cluster temp gauge not working

Post by hubble1953 »

I have a euro cluster that came with the m535i I bought but the temp. gauge does not work. I put the usa cluster back in and the temp gauge works fine.
Everything else on the euro works but the temp? But I did notice the batteries and board that the batteries attach too is all white with gunk on it. Would this cause just the temp gauge to not work?
thanks for any help.

Yes. The two main boards and SI boards may interchange and work fine.

I was hoping that would be the case. I will just start taking it apart and see if the euro parts will work on the other cluster.
Think it will look better with the liters and all the other euro items.
thanks,

Replace the SI board and you should be good to go. They are interchangeable. I'd spend the money on one of the ProgRama flash boards. You'll never have to deal with the gunk again! What else might require replacement depends on what was affected by the acid. If everything else appears to have made it unscathed, you can get away with just the SI board.

Had to take everything apart, but got the new board into the euro parts, so now I just need the 260km speedometer
