block heater and glow plugs

does the block heater have a thermostat, or is there an approximate time to leave plugged in (example = overnight)
not sure if glow plugs are correct , from other post i think bosch
is correct brand. anyway just give me the correct part numbers.
No one in my area stocks parts so i will have to order of internet.

For 0F days, I plug my block heater in for 2-3 hours before starting my car. This is with glow plugs that work well. You may want to block your front grille if the wind is blowing or it is really cold out.

I couldn't believe the difference blocking off the front grill made with the block heater. The engine compartment was easily twice as warm. I also routed the block heater plug up under the engine so I could keep the hood closed too.
