On my '85 524td both bumpers have suffered low MPH accidents and are either pushed a little up or down. has anyone ever had this problem and had to disassemble the bumpers and straighten them? Is this the best way and what usually gets bent in these low MPH accidents?

I hit a guy driving parallel to me while i was backing out of a parking spot (low speed) and there was absolutely no damage to my car!
($1600 on his Honda civic though

I have taken them off before just to get a feel of what the car would look like...basically its just 3 steel pipes bolting the bumper to the car...2 bolts per anchor point. They're fairly simple to take off, just be sure not to cross thread them when putting them back on.

As for how to take the dents out...i couldn't exactly say...the bumper seems to be attached to part of the frame, and trying to take those dents out would take some serious work!
