OT: Got to drive Ferrari 360 & Maserati Coupe

A fellow instructor at the Xtreme Measures Teen Driving School at Lowe's Motor Speedway yesterday had his two Italian toys out and gave me the opportunity to drive them around the kart track some and the Maserati on a figure-8 course. Both had a paddle-shift system, but the Ferrari's was more refined; I got the impression Maserati's was more Auto-stick based, but I didn't play with them long. The powerband in the Maserati felt more linear compared to the Ferrari that was slightly lacking at low RPM. The audio soundtrack from the Ferrari powerplant in the spyder was most impressive of course. The Ferrari was very planted everywhere; the Maserati had some low-speed understeer, but there was always enough power to overcome it. So much fun.......

About 15 years ago I got to drive a black Ferrari Testarossa......at a car wash.....for about 20 feet.....with a speed of about 5mph.

I drove an 308 back in the mid 80's a girl friend's dads..... if you are not blessed with the means to own one driving a true exotic is a feeling you will never forget.......wished i'd kept the girl

Oh yeah, I drove a hopped up Evo-8; it just didn't feel like it would have the same punch mentioned beside the Italian steeds. I do indeed love driving other people's cars, and it happens almost whenever I'm at the track.....let's see if it will work today.
