Went out today before work with my brother and took some pictures of the his new ride and my old ride.

The M535i needs more leaux. I was hoping it had M Technik springs, but we weren't that lucky, so a new suspension is in the works. We installed new bilstein sports at Wickerfest a few weeks ago which did help quite a bit though.

Nice to see progress.

Many M535s didn't come with the M-Tech suspension. Bummer Sterling's was one of them!

"Free" Is a misnomer. We've got almost $3000 into the car at this point after not paying for the car. But it's coming along. The dogleg is a BLAST!

Believe me I know what you mean. Mine was "free" too and I have probably dumped a grand into it since and will spend plenty more before i'm done with it. But it makes me

They will be, once we're able to afford it. At this point we can get and keep the cars mechanically sound, or cosmetically. Cosmetics will come later. In any case, we will drive and enjoy the hell out of them, as God and BMW intended.

This car kicks ass, btw. So much fun to drive. I hope that you won't lose your zest for driving worrying about a fancy paintjob...

Here's a few more pictures of the teardown and when it was delivered to paint. Nice thing is I work next door to the paint shop so I get to go inspect regularly. Took a total of 9 hours to completely strip the car minus the glass removal.

Well, I am not investing the highest quality paint job or the most invasive of restorations. I want to make sure it's not so nice I feel bad about driving it. My goal is to not spend more on the paint and refresh than I paid for the car.
