E30 e-brake handle fitting

Does anyone know if an E30 e-brake handle would fit on an e28's? I saw a nice option for an E30 that i would like in my car. Obviously I would have to fully remove the plastic housing - so when it's bare metal is it the same?

I'm 99% sure it does. The E34, E38, E32, etc. are all the same so I don't see why the E30 would be different.

That sounds promissing - does that mean the leather boots also fit?

I don't think the boot is the same...I could be wrong though.

The e30 boot would be too long. What you can do is go to a junkyard and pull the leather boot and handle from an e34 or e32. Easy to find, and much nicer than the stock piece. I also managed to snag an e46 e brake handle which is now on my M5.

If you're interested, depending on the color of your interior, I have brand new leather (AFAIK) shift and E-Brake boots in Cardinal. They were the ones TheArtisan did a while ago so they're good quality and if anyone else who purchased those can confirm that they were OEM (quality) material?

I may just carefully cut the stock plastic housing halfway and slide on the new brake handle - if that looks goofy I will search for a boot.

Well, here it is - the reasons behind my question. I already installed a wood Momo steering wheel and a burl wood shifter - treated myself to an E30 burl brake handle...cut the original plastic sheath in half to match. :)

Looks great but I have a couple questions; What's with the letters next to your shifter, and where is your clutch pedal?

Just playing around - it looks really nice. I'd rather have a really clean car with an auto than a beat manual...
