Dinan Turbo Recirc.???
So my buddy just bought grahamcam's Dinan Turbo. We were lookin at it the other day trying to find where the recirulator or BOV was and couldn't find one. there's nothing on the charged side of the piping other than the signal line to the wastegate and the idle-air-control valve. Soooooooo "what the crap" is the question that i ask lol. What's the deal, is there just no recirc. or BOV? Thanks!

oh i know. my thoughts exactly. yeah, there's NOTHING that resembles a recirc or BOV. there just isn't one. i just don't think Dinan would do that, but you never know i guess. there's nothing from turbo to intercooler, or from intercooler to TB. Just a signal line to the wastegate and the IAC. really weird...and shitty. And it makes sense cause the car feels like it loses boost very quickly when you let off the accelerator between shifts. it's like if you're not just mashing on it, you have to rebuild your boost. the car is fast as crap regardless. but he's definitely looking into getting a BOV installed.

Shot you a reply. But Ill answer here also. Alot of these Dinan cars were made from kits. Lots were horribly butchered. So there may not be a BOV. It should be easy to find. Mines on the output pipe just after the turbo under the car. Dinan used the Porsche 930 BOV(Bosch). So its would just be a black plastic unit.
This pic shows it: See the black input pipe to the AFM, where the intake pipe bends down from the orange coupler, just under it you can see the chrome pipe under the car with the BOV just in view(very small).

If its not there or above, it doesn't have one. But because it dosen't have didn't mean Dinan messed up, it was probably the previous owners fault(more likely to me).
I don't know the history of this car(grahamcam's), did he install the system or a previous owner? Is it a kit off ebay? Did Dinan install it? SteveD is pretty meticulous with his installs, I don't believe he would do a system w/o BOV!

oh i know. he's a great guy. i just met him last month. he really does know what he's talking about too. thanks for the info Russ. I don't know if graham installed it or not. although i'm pretty sure he did not. but that's really all we know. but basically, it needs a bypass valve for sure!
