The used cats go for $250 as scrap for recycleing because of the platinum content, so you should look into an aftermarket cat. Check Metric Mechanic or Bav Auto...

I also have a Bosal cat back with good life left...come & get it.

If you're going to keep your car, why put on a cat that will be dead in 2-3 years? I'd rather spend the $1600 and get something that fits properly and will last 20-some years.

SOLD!! I have a very fine used cat off of a 1987 535i. I will wash it , wax it, pack it with TLC & even pay shipping. Send $1,600.00 to my paypal account & I'll ship 2nd day air!

P.T. Barnum sure had it right. ;)

what's a used exhaust with a 'no guarantees' cat sell for?

(and I mean as a "car part" rather than as "scrap metal")

Guess that's a near-future chapter to my 535is that I shouldn't even turn to just yet......

No problem...just see my 1st response to Chris. If that seems too steep, see my 2nd response to Chris.

Cheers!
