This is a 1987 535is that I picked from my neighborhood repair shop. The previous owner brought it in for some work and then was not able to pay for the repairs - so the shop ended up with it. They put about $1,600 in parts into the car, including a new windshield, new Dunlop SP Tires (235/45/17), new brakes, new fog lights, and tail light lens. It has some nice chrome 17 inch wheels - not sure what brand but they seem to be of pretty high quality.
The engine starts up and runs well. I checked the compression and all cylinders are between 132 and 138 psi. Probably needs a new Oxygen sensor since the check light is on. Five speed transmission shifts smoothly in all gears with no grinding. Clutch feels strong. Most electrics seem to work well, including windows, mirrors, electric seats, etc.
I was thinking of this as another project, but am pretty busy with my 3 BMW 2002 projects, so decided to let it go. Call me with questions, and to arrange to come take a look and test drive. You can reach me at 703-590-2607.

No CEL on Motronic 1.0. Someone might have put the ABS bulb/socket in the CEL spot but, normally the socket is taped up in the main harness. Also the flashing "Check" in the center of the cluster is not the CEL.scottpb wrote: Probably needs a new Oxygen sensor since the check light is on.
