WTB: Fuel Pump (Working).

Does anyone have a fuel pump I could scoop up; mine will not shut up.

I'm pretty sure the bearings are bad and the 535i is bucking and acting like fuel starvation with anything past 10% throttle. I replaced the relay to see if it was getting voltage; nothing. I replaced the filter to see if the pump was working overtime; it helped but the problem was still there. So I figure the next thing is the fuel pump, which is making way too much noise.

I have priced Bosch pumps new (damn BMW parts) so I thought I might see if anyone here had one for sale. I figure I'm going to have to save as much money as possible because I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to let my mechanic do the job. I don't think I would have much luck 'droping' the tank, but I could be wrong.

You don't have to "drop the tank" on an E28 to change either fuel pump.
The Primary (high pressure) pump is located in the same bracket as the fuel filter in the right rear fender area.
The secondary (low pressure / feeder) pump is in the tank and is accessed by removing the trunk carpet and it's mounting plate is bolted into a recess on the top of the fuel tank.

Oh, really. That's kind of cool; wait no, that's badass! I guess I never really paid attention when I changed the filter, but now that I think about it, the pump is right there. I just assumed that the primary pump was in the tank; thanks.
