SOLD My S6 , So the 5 stays....
1988 535is, 5 speed manual. Diamondschwartz with tan. 180k miles. I'm the third owner, purchased in October for $3500. Since then I have repaired and upholstered the driver's seat (leather) and had the passenger re-dyed. I've also replaced the MFM and the left rear axle. (also had new plugs, filters, belts)
Mechanically this car is rock solid. My shop couldn't believe what nice shape it was in (ex what was repaired)
Car comes with ARE wheels with nearly new (5K) Yokohama tires.
All numbers match (ex hood, which the previous owner swapped with a buddy for an M hood)
Dash is cracked, but I have a beautiful replacement that I will include with the right offer. Otherwise the interior is in good shape.
What's wrong:
AC has been converted, but the compressor stopped working shortly after conversion and has not been replaced yet.
Driver's door lock doesn't work from door, but works fine electronically from the trunk. (think the spring needs to be replaced)
Paint on roof and trunk has lost clear coat. (looks fine from a distance)
The gearbox for the wormdrive on the right side of drivers seat needs to be replaced (may swap with passenger seat if I can't locate a cheap one)
Otherwise everything works very well. I have full maintenance records from previous owner (owned for 7-8 years) Includes clutch, master slave, driveshaft. Previous owner also replaced stereo with a Clarion cd player (removable face) and Bazooka tube sub-woofer (under rear seat)
Other fun facts:
Car has spent its entire life in the Southwest (Dallas and Albuquerque) it is completely rust free.
Have original owners manuals, tool kit (including blue cloth)
Has K&N Air Filter (not currently installed)
Spare ECU (chipped, have not looked to see whose)
