Ok it's spring cleaning time. I'm giving you guys first dibs on my custom made track pipes. I replaced them with Fahey pipes after my rebuild. A buddy of mine used them for a weekend track event while his Fahey pipes were being Jet coated and didn't feel any significant difference! They are not mandrel bent but do weigh about 3 lbs less than the Fahey pipes. My friend owns a muffler shop and made these for me after my 1st cat died. They are guaranteed to be a bolt on fit. I discarded the original bolts to attach them since they were rusted. I'm sure you can source some from any auto parts store or I think the bolts that hold your cat in will work. They have a threaded hole for your O2 sensor. Their benefits are always a topic of debate so all I will say is they will give you 9-16 HP across the rev range. Some say you will loose some torque but if you have a Dinan chip and exhaust cam sprocket this should not be a concern. Your stock exhaust will sound awesome with no annoying din at cruise as in most aftermarket systems.I can send you a video clip of what the exhaust sounds like. Similar but not as raspy as my most recent video post (See Video sound check E28 M5) The weird "growths" you see on one of the pipes is dried up tranny fluid that leaked on them at some time.
