I found this bio of the euro M5 today and it features our own Rich Beaver's (Rich euro M5) car in it. I think it was just prior to his ownership.

My M5 was purchased near Ramstein AB / K-Town area and was delivered in March of '85 to the dealership. It went directly to the boat and arrived in the US in May '85. It went through Federalization in Colorado Springs and was released by the DOT in Nov '85.well that is a nice listing of the data for the car. The front tag is from Heidelberg, wonder if it was originally purchased by someone stationed there and brought into the US.
All of this info came from the DOT. I haven't seen anything indicating who the original owner / purchaser was. Due to the car being imported by a Colorado based company my WAG is a USAF Officer or USAF Academy Grad ordered the car.
