Yesterday I replaced 2 exhaust gaskets that had burnt. I drove the car to the bar and back last night. This morning I started the car, it ran for 5 seconds and quit. I turned it off, back on again, let the glow plugs warm and tried to start it. It cranked over, but wouldn't catch.
Any ideas? I don't know how the diesel computer controls the injection pump or what the inputs are, so I'm totally lost.

Well, you're not getting fuel for some reason. ECU has no control over the fuel on this engine. Hell, you can drive it with no intake manifold for that matter (been there, done that).
Check your little shutoff lever when turning the key on, I believe it should move. If not, try having someone crank it then move the throttle a bit by hand a see if it runs. Proceed from there with findings.
PS make sure there is fuel in the tank too!

Full tank of fuel. It's good to hear that the computer has no control over fuel. The engine is getting some fuel because it tries to catch and doesn't try to catch with the stop lever depressed. I've bled the fuel system to the filter. I'm going to change the filter today, bleed it to the injectors and try it again.
edit: I just read about the electric fuel shutoff. I'm going to test that and see if it's working properly.
