Oil change Indicator Light

Post by abeye28 »

The oil service indicator light is on. The place I take to get the car serviced does not have the tool to reset it, do I have to take it to a dealer to have the light reset?

No, you have search google or post in the tech section, your car if it is an M5 or M535i is experiencing a common to all E28s problem and you will get more views and help in a more widely viewed forum.

Jump pin 1 with pin 7 in the diagnostics connector, then turn the car on, do not start and wait for the lights to reset then turn the car off and remove jumper.

Thanks for that. It is so good to have those annoying lights out of the way now. I know what you're thinking - "don't neglect the service checks". Good advice, will get around to it sometime. ;)
