Location of audio amp and routing of amp wiring

Guys,

Please give me your advice.

All passenger seats removed, a good start

Rear shelf with roller blind about to go in. I have the roof sockets ready to fit also, if I can find the cutouts for them in the roof.

where is good place to locate a small 2 channel amp to power the rear spkrs? Its only a small sized amp, 7 inches square.

Where/how do you route the amp’s battery cable thru the front firewall?

What pitfalls might I encounter?

My amp is wired like this:

Battery -> Inline fuse ->

then the cable goes into a place on the firewall, if you look around your brake fluid res. you should see a rubber grommet thing where cables go in and out of. If you dont, you can try looking and feeling around underneath the dash and feed the cable from the cabin into the engine bay until you see enough cable poking out of the engine bay.

Once inside the cabin, I just lifted the carpet and ran my cable along the door sills underneath the rear seats, and then through a hole behind the rear seats into the trunk.

I removed that cardboard piece from the rear of my trunk and mounted my amp directly to the steel, as you can see in this pic here. Works just fine... sloppy lookin, my fault, but works great.

You could also position that amp under the rear seat bottom.

Best place is in the trunk, either under the parcel shelf or on the trunk wall....I would use a piece of mdf to mount the amp to the metal though, would look cleaner.

Can you get enough air flow under there so you don't cook the amp? Depending on the amp specs and how hard you push it, it can get pretty darn hot.

did you connect the amp power wire right up to the battery, or to the accessory fuse at the fusebox. If the latter, is it easy to hook up to the fusebox?
