Anyone know what diff ratio the '85 524td came with? I believe it is a 2.93.
Much appreciated...Steve5and6

2.93 or 2.93lsd depending on region it was shipped to. My 524td has an open 2.93. If I do the 5-speed manual swap I am going to switch to a 3.25 or possibly 3.46 ratio.

My 524td had an open 3.25, I thought they all did...
Jay, yours has a 2.93? Maybe someone swapped a 528e diff in. My 524td was pretty peppy with the 3.25 ratio.

Hey Rex, check out what diff the 524d had. YOUCH! Talk about some gear!
That's nothing, though. I drove a 520i, one time, that had a 4.27!
