I was thinking the exact same thing until I got an offer on my 528e and decided to sell both M20-powered Bimmers and buy a 535i. There's an ad on Roadfly for an '85 325e 5-speed that the guy was trying to sell for $500 for parts. I asked him if he'd sell a 5-speed conversion kit off of it, and he said he'd look into it. That was a week ago. I'll PM you the link to the ad and the guy's e-mail address. Maybe he's still around.
