You forgot to capitalize and put the apostrophe in "that's," misspelled and forgot the apostrophe in "haven't," forgot to capitalize your personal pronoun, and forgot your period.

Yep, there are always tradeoffs.

When someone asks how I can remember "all that car stuff," I ask if they know who played in the 1952 World Series, or some sports trivia. They most often say something like "Yep, that was such-and-such." I say "Well, I have no clue about sports trivia -- my brain is filled with car stuff!"

And when one of my friends has a car problem, they come to me and I fix it. So far, none of my friends have been called to fix a sports team problem...

When pressed as to "Why would anyone need to know how to _____? You can just pay someone to do that." I often counter that 1) I take pride in doing it myself, 2) it's less frustrating to do it myself, 3) I can do it quickly/cheaper/better, and 4) you might need to know it in a pinch.

Number 4 saved my Wife #1 when she was back in Atlanta for a critical admission interview (I was stationed in Spokane at the time). Running late, her mom's Honda wouldn't start, and when they opened the hood, the turquoise corrosion on the battery clamps was obvious even to them. She'd resisted my tryin' to learn her that you could clean battery terminals with a baking soda/water solution, but she'd retained the information, and after a quick cleaning, they were on their way and made it on time. I was flabbergasted at three things: 1) she remembered the tip, 2) she admitted that it indeed came in handy, and 3) she said thanks for telling her.

i do it myself because im tires of paying the"professionals" to do a crappy job , because they're tryin to beat the clock .....
ex: 1 hammerin my tie rods with a sledge hammer instead of soaking them in PB blaster 1st ( alignment )
ex: 2 drilling my trunk and hood ( alarm pin switches ), instead of using the switches that r already there for the lamps
ex: 3 overtorqing my lugnuts and warping my rotors
...........

There was a fairly common scene in old war movies: a squad of soldiers would come across another soldier dressed in a US uniform, but they thought he may be a German soldier in disguise. So, they'd quiz him to see if he was a real American by asking him, "OK, who pitched the winning game in the '39 World Series?" or something similar.

I would have been a goner.
