Hello BMWers, I'm looking for a well-kept E28 with a manual transmission, prefer a 535i. I'm in Ottawa, Ontario but I'd certainly be willing to travel and ship the right match. Our other car is a CX-90 PHEV - and want a nostalgic car that I can drive as opposed to car that drives me! If you have one you'd consider selling I'd appreciate the opportunity to take care of it for the next few decades. Mechanical issues are okay, but structural integrity is a must!

I've got a turbo 5 speed manual 528e down in NM. It's no 535i but it has walked away from an e46 M3 and many other cars that you would find similarly hard to believe. I think the main drawback for most people would be the lack of air conditioning but your climate up there would probably mitigate this to a great extent.
I'm sure you have emissions up there and possibly inspections as well. Emissions should be no problem, it's running closed loop with an O2 sensor. It doesn't have a cat on it but it would be no trouble to clamp a 3" aftermarket unit in for a sniff test. Inspection might be a problem if they know this thing isn't supposed to have a turbo on it.
