61.9 Degrees
26% Humidity
10psi
305.59 RWHP
310.21 RWTQ
The A/R was almost flat about 11.5 and at 4500-5000 RPM it dropped to 10:1 so I have some room for improvement.
I also had stock plugs not my NKG W6 also I do not have my intercooler plumed in I still need to hook up the water system I am still trying to find a mounting location for the heat exchanger.

What turbo are you running? At 10psi that is a good set of #'s. Congrats.

Thats cool, because the T61 has similar flow ratings to the K27 - Right Todd?

So technically that setup was running non-intercooled? What else is on the car besides the turbo and such?

That's a huge number at 10psi non intercooled. That's 15rwhp per psi of boost. A stock m30b34 is good for ~10rwhp per psi. You can make 400rwhp with that motor if you want.

In regards to your dyno run, that is very typical of an FMU controlled M30 b35 dyno run. I would say that it's probably lower than 10:1 were its maxed the graph. Then, when boost maxs and air flow continues to increase, the AFR comes in nicely. This car is I/C'd right, as you said it was a stg II kit? W/O an I/C, Im not sure you can make 400hp(im guessing Todd is talking crank power, not whp).

why the sudden dip in a/f ratio at 4500 RPM, then it self corrects? good numbers ason, keep'em comin

You almost have to tune FMUs to work this way. As they only respond to boost, not air mass. Thats the limitation the FMUs have, unfortunately. Its seems to me there is a boost spike right were the AFR starts to richen significantly. It's that little spike at 4k RPM. This boost spike caused the FMU to richen, then as boost normalizes, it comes back in, as it should, because it responds to air pressure, not mass.

Now, don't get me wrong, FMU are good devices, and there is a strong correlation between boost and air mass, but not enought to fix there weakness.

I do not have the inner cooler water hooked up and the car started heat soak I tried for 15psi and well the numbers were about the same then I tried to do a forth gear pull to load the turbo for more power but the charged air was just too hot. But I did get 335rwtq @ 4000 but I had to shut her down after 5K detonation.

Oh, I thought this was a M30-b35 engine! What compression are you running, is it a stock 8:1 like a b34 engine?

If so, then your car is making great power, but 400whp with only 5psi more from 305whp? Mmmmm

Todd is talking about 400rwhp at 15 psi with a perfect A/R we will see. Also I have a B34 head.

The intercooler will be worth 25rwhp. That get's it to 330rwhp at 10psi. That leaves 70rwhp from 5psi. I think he can get really close. This motor has a MM head and turbo cam.

I see, I should have remembered this but I did not. Yes, it will be close, make sure he does the dyno runs on a real cool day and on an inertia dyno, there much more forgiving on power #s. ;-)

what is the turbo cam? I am interested in installing one if I can find one.

400hp would be real nice. Keep working on it but dont skip out anywhere, thats where it will blow up on you. Good luck.

I Talked to Todd about how I was going to hook my inner cooler up a long time ago and for now I will have to leave you all in the dark Let's just say my system is going to take about 30ft of water hoses and one more Heat exchanger about 12"x12"x1" and another electric fan and that is all I am going to say for now.

If it is possable to hit 400rwhp @ 15 psi I am sure going to try but if not It will still put down some good #"s anyway.

It's Metric Mechanic's special ground cam. It's about 275 degree duration, assymetrical, low overlap. Basically, the opening and closing sides are quite steep with a "flatter" top to the cam. It's designed to have the valves open quickly, spend a lot of time as open as possible, then close quickly. When I spoke to Jim about it, he indicated that it's the same cam they use in their NA motors, it just happens to work really well in turbos because it doesn't have a lot of overlap. The quick opening and closing neccessitates stiffer valve springs, but I think that's about it.

In any case, looks like it works nicely.

nice nice. colt cams and delta cams are 2 very good companies that did work for people that I know and did a very good job. They will grind it to any specs. Who makes the stiffer valve springs?

what should the afr be and under boost what should it change to ? say at 10lbs of boost

off boost/cruising afr should be about 14.7 and on boost at WOT it should be about 12:1

Ok I got the spec from Jim Rowe at MM Before I ordered my head I told him what I was going to do so the build up on my head is one of (2) that I know of and the other being Pat P (e34 biturbo)
The cam is 292 degree duration and 11 mm lift and a low over lap Jim redesigned this cam after pat P's high hp car the head is designed for 7K redline and 20+ psi
MM calls their new cam a 284.

284 is still a deciently agressive cam. Are new springs/rockers required?

Yep the double springs are required for a high lift and high rpm's to stop valve float.
