These seats look interesting.  Do the headrest speakers work?  I'm guessing they might need the drivers replaced, if nothing else.  Did you have these seats in an E28?  I have Pearl Beige Sport Seats in my car, so they wouldn't suit you.  Why don't you have these Recaros reupholstered in black?

I have not tested the speakers, nor any of the other functions.

I was planning on putting these in my e28, but decided id rather have original seats.

Reupholstery is very expensive, and not going to be in budget anytime soon.
