Hi, we are converting an '82 528e from autobox to a manual. We don't know what we don't know but are looking for at least a pedal box. We are hoping to find a gearbox close to home - Westchester NY - and figure out what else we need, thanks for looking,
Chuck

Re: WTB: auto to 5spd parts
I have a rusty 84' 533i that I am slowly disassembling for parts. It is a manual and I don't need any of the transmission/drivetrain/shift parts and would be glad if they dound a new home. Car ran and shifted fine, just too far gone with the rust and I've replaced it with a new to me rust free E28. I am in Boston.

This gearbox won't bolt into a 82 528e, different bellhousing configuration.
Re: WTB: auto to 5spd parts
Good point. I hadn't bothered to check.
Re: WTB: auto to 5spd parts
Thanks for the notes guys...and the help...good to know about the tranny, but would any of the other parts work? I assume some cross over?
Re: WTB: auto to 5spd parts
Parts from 533i/535i that will work.
pedals
hard and soft lines
Shifter bracket that is attached to the car. This holds up the shifter plate.
the diff which should be a 3.25 instead of the 2.93 you have.
what bodes not work.
trans and parts on the trans
fly wheel
clutch
drive shaft
You can also use trans from 325i, but has to have the 2 side sensor holes. (Early 325i)
