WTB: Red diagnostic plug cover

Post by gray635 »

I know that these in good condition have gotten pretty rare. But if anyone here has one for sale, please PM me. Thanks!

Hey, John!  Yeah, sort of.

I bought Roy Wicklund's M5 back about a year ago. I first saw this car and met Roy at the 2007 5erFest in Chattanooga and have wanted to own it since then.

I've just about run out of things on this great example (presently 51K) to obsess over. So I've turned my attention to the diagnostic plug cover!!

Any help sourcing one of these things would be much appreciated. Vviking, perhaps??

I thought M5 diagnostic covers were black?  Mine is black; do I too need to be looking for a red one?

Did you find any? I’m also looking for a red cap. My car has one but it’s not in the best condition and it’s something I’d like to replace.

Easier said than done. I bought a file, trying to get it right. Not the final product both in material or color but its looking like its beyond my ability. Can't get the text/size correct.

That would be a small concession if the rest of it were correct...

The color/material is the easy part. Nailing the rest is a little tougher. I'll update this when I order the red material.
