Small bracket on subframe brace, needed?

Post by Fanclutchnut »

Can anyone tell me what purpose these brackets serve? Our car only came with one. Now that we are redoing our entire rear axle assembly, I was going to leave it off.

Curious, I don't see it on Realoem, not that everything is there nor than I can find all that is.

But I know what you're talking about, I've seen it. Now I'm not saying take it to the bank, but I've always assumed it was a tie down point for when they shipped them over by ship. :dunno:

I believe it’s a bracket used for tiedowns when the car is being shipped.

You can leave it off, as said about it is for shipping. All cars I've seen have had two, so yours has lost one at some point in its life.

I had a feeling it was a shipping bracket. Thx for the confirmation.
