I have a 1985 528e.
Tried starting, no luck. Put on a trickle charge, car started up and I was able to drive it a few miles. Now, the car won't start. Everything electrical is working.
Ideas - main relay? Fuel pump relay?
Any help is appreciated.

1985 528e will not start
Re: 1985 528e will not start
Sounds from here like you have a combination of a low/dead battery and the charging system isn't working. What is the battery voltage? 12.5 or so is charged battery, not 12.0. Even a cheap meter is good enough for checking something like that, although if the battery in the meter itself is low that can cause bad readings.
Typically the battery light in the cluster has to be working for the alternator to work and charge, so look to see if it's on and if it's not fix that.
