ECU pin out list

Post by knunger »

Does anyone out there have the pinout list for a 0 061 200 011 ECU?

TIA

What is that, a pre 85 euro 3.5? I would guess a 008 would be pretty damn close, they were used in the same era but had an O2 sensor input. Also, perhaps more importantly when I pulled an engine out of an '83 735 that's what was in there, a 008. It had an O2 sensor, but not connected to anything, just for show I guess. Probably suitable for low impedance injectors.

Yep, a '83 euro 635 CSI

And I misspoke: its a 0 261 200 011 ECU

I'm trying to figure which pins fire the coil and the 2 banks of injectors

The 008 ecu drives low impedance fuel injectors, the 011drives the high impedance injectors.
Kim, I bought a e23 euro 735i from LJ a long time ago, supposed to have had the 011 ECU, or whatever was the other one was. The car had/ran fine on a 059 ECU, no adverse issues at all,  was hooked up to an 02 via an added wire. Maybe be easier to find the pin outs for that? I think the only difference was higher compression (fuel maps), and Cat or no cat.

Well, high impedance injectors should work ok with a ECU designed to run low, it's the other way around that will damage it. Too much current draw. I'm not aware of too little current draw being a problem. But we're looking at pinout anyway, what goes where, not current capability.

Not the easiest thing, but I would look to the 008 diagram with your current ECU disconnected and see what goes where to confirm or deny.

I was only stating the differences, but the 008 is different from the 011/059 as the idle control is handled differently in the 008.

OK, I was unaware of that. I didn't know the 011 did idle control like the 059, I would have guessed it was only the 061. On the other hand, an 059 will work in place of an 008, at least for a while, until it burns up the injector driver. I know because a friend did it by accident.

Again, I think Kim would be very close and probably usable if he used the 008 pinout, which is what we were originally talking about.

Cool, we agree on that at least.

Kim, looks like you can run with it!

Well, seeing that, I don’t have any Pinout lists, Either and 011 or an 059 would be helpful!

Kim, for both the 059 and the 011, reach out to Sam. He knows these inside out, he has deep knowledge on these (and more) and has programed them. He's also very willing to help.

It takes a little bit, but you can just pull them off the ETM. http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm
