The Kirkland oil is good stuff, but not for our E28s, which need higher ZDDP.
Re: Parts/Fluids/Supplies on Sale
A friend mentioned to me the other day that he buys "oil change kits" for his Cayman from FCP euro, and after an oil change ships the old oil and filter back to Connecticut for a full refund. This seemed nuts to me, but after looking around a bit, apparently it's a real thing. After purchasing the initial kit, all subsequent ones are effectively free (there's some question in my mind still about whether or not shipping is covered) if you return the old stuff. Is anyone else doing this? For some reason the viscosity of the oil in their "kits" differs from what I understand to be the manufacturer's recommendations, at least for the two vehicles I checked (M30- and S52-powered), but not that far off.

Return shipping was covered through some kind of PayPal deal until a few years ago - now the cost is on you. Wouldn't be bad if you're relatively close to keep the shipping cost down. I have a pile of parts to return to them using their lifetime warranty deal - have not done this yet.
