Severe 4HP-22 Leak

I posted this in tech talk as well.

I have a severe leak, and while it may be the fluid cooler hoses (they are both in poor condition), I am curious what else could be leaking. Fluid is definitely originating at the front of the trans, I just can't tell if it's only the hoses. Is there anything else I should look at? I am no automatic transmission specialist. Thanks in advance.

Background: Driving home, about halfway there I heard a strange, small sound, and then noticed a small cloud of smoke trailing me the remainder of the drive. Plus the delightful smell of auto trans fluid cooking off of the exhaust. More than 2 liters of fluid gone over that final 10 miles of driving.
