Thanks for starting this, I will fill in the information now:
The 14th Annual SoCal Vintage BMW Meet 2021
This year is likely to be one of the largest events we've ever had with the inclusion now of the E36 3 Series and E36/7/8 Z3. We have always had a strong showing of 5 Series (E12, E28 and E34) and want to continue that tradition. The difference this year is that with the inclusion of the E36 & Z3's, they have grouped all the models in that generation (E31, E34 & E32, Z3, and E36) at the north end of the field which means anyone with an E34 will be down at this end rather that with the rest of the 5's. A bit odd but it has some logic to it in the overall grouping and one's experience walking the field.
General Admission to attend the meet is free and open to everyone. The event runs officially from 8:00am to about 3:00pm with an average of well over 300 cars, multiple vendors, food trucks, and a People's Choice Awards ceremony. This is always a great event that usually marks the end of car season but this is year the vibe is a bit different (for obvious reasons). We always get a host of folks from NorCal, San Diego, Arizona and further away so it is good time to connect or re-connect with a bunch of folks on this board and in the BMW communities as well.
If you want to display your car on the field, be sure to get there well in advance of 8:00am as cars will begin to que up on Woodley Avenue several hours before. (Us organizers will be on the field setting up starting around 6:00am so you will see lot's of activity.) It would be best if you pre-registered at the link below since it will be much smoother and faster for everyone involved. However you can register the morning of as you enter the field, just be prepared with money and focus.
If you want to get on the field first, please volunteer to help. This event doesn't happen without a volunteer army who help setup and take-down as well parking cars (biggest need). The sooner we get everyone on the field and setup the sooner everyone can enjoy the show. If you want to help, contact me right away.

1. On Sunday 11/7 is the 2021 French & Italian Car Show at the very same venue. More information here: http://www.franceanditaly.com/
2. Sunday is also the 2021 LA Marathon. This happens mostly down in the Basin from Downtown LA to the Westside and Beaches; it might not affect anyone more than the locals and anyone staying over Saturday night. More information here on the course: https://lamarathon.com/pages/la-marathon-course
3. From 11/5 to 11/7 the 101 Hollywood Freeway will be closed from the 10 up to the 110 Freeways through Downtown LA for work related to the new 6th Street Bridge construction. Again, might not affect anyone but if you're coming up from the south and planning on rolling through Downtown via the 101 into the Valley, think again and re-route accordingly. Well it was another great event with a huge turnout of awesome cars and terrific people. Special thanks to Vince for his time and effort to help organize the show. Most of all it was great to see all of you long time E28 long-haulers. Safe travels home!

Thanks, John. It was a group effort with a LOT of tireless volunteering that makes this happen. With the tragic loss of Jeff d' Avanzo late last year to Covid-19, John Barlow reached out to all the local members to step up and make this happen. All things considered, with the exception very few hiccups, it went off without a hitch.
It was great seeing some folks I haven't seen it a long time (locals and out-of-towners) while also catching up again with those folks from Reno in September. Hard to say how many cars we had at the height since we were spread out across a larger field this year, but if the Pre-registration numbers were accurate (and counting in those who paid at the entrances) we should have been well over 400 cars.
As mentioned, we allowed in the next wave of "Classic" BMW's with the acceptance of the E36 3 Series and E36/7 & /8 (Z3). We had a great turn-out of both as well as a strong presence of both E32 & E34's in their own dedicated coral (wedged in between the E31's and Z3's) to complete this whole generation of newer Classics at the north end of the field.
Massive showing by the vendors with what felt like a ton more of their own cars across the spectrum of Vintage and Classics. The weather cooperated also while starting out socked in by heavy fog, by late morning the sun finally burned through while the temps stayed in the low-'70's; a perfect SoCal Fall day.
Well, we hope to keep this event going well into the future as it grows and evolves; we are all happy (and relieved) that even with a world-wide Pandemic and the loss of one of the founders, this event is still thriving.
