stupid shit kid. sorry for the passenger and glad the Toyota held up to the force of the collision. Don't know if that driver failed to yield right of way but the speed needed to split the car is enough to cause problems with someone deciding on a left turn.

Actually the one that bugs me is use of the term "wreck" which implies destruction, not just damage. Although in this case it might be appropriate.

The term I'd like to see used is "collision," which described exactly what is happening and doesn't absolve anyone of blame out of hand.

"Ripped in half," "collided with a Toyota Camry," "toppled a traffic signal," and "shared a fire hydrant." I'd say speed was definitely a factor. At least 100 mph to go through that many objects.

I don't think they would've gotten to that kind of speed in a Chevy - not because they're incapable, but because they're not precise vehicles - I'm willing to bet there were a series of close-calls that were only avoided due to the car's ability to handle so well - before they finally plowed through the Camry.

At least the victim in the Camry survived this time. It's bad enough to see people die like this, but even worse when someone else gets killed due to their stupidity.

Did you see the collision scene? The Toyota has some front end damage that ended before the wheel well, sitting there with air bags deployed. BMW was in chunks here and there. Kid gets the car to over 100 mph and gets pushed over by the toyota and takes out the light pole and fire hydrant because the kid lost control, while those pieces cut the car into pieces.

I'm totally fine with collision . I just hate accident because it implies that it was unavoidable.

You seemed to put too much into the damage of the toy. It was clipped, sure missing a lot of the stuff in front of the wheels but that is a fender bender where I'm from. No problem.

This happened just a couple blocks from me. Sad story, but I'm honestly surprised I don't hear more like this. Most people here are pretty bad drivers, and unfortunately some of the younger kids drive like complete jackasses as well. My friend told me he heard the crash from his house, sounded horrific.

Depends on which teen you're talking about. My (second) car that I drove from age 18-22 was a 360HP/380lb-ft monster. Never got it in any sort of accident nor a speeding ticket. You should definitely teach your kid how to properly drive before getting them any car, however.

Looks like a dealer license plate. Wonder what the deal is there. At least that story didn't go "BMW did BMW things and BMWed itself into a helpless store in Norwalk. Unrestrained BMW driver reportedly neglected to use BMW factory-supplied turn indication system. Also asked BMW passengers if they were "interested in a little supplemental restraint." Speed of the BMW was likely a factor. BMW."
