Hello all,
I am looking for some help regarding interior color codes.
My 88' 528e has an interior code BLUE (code - 0258) , the seats have ripped seams and are almost beyond reconditioning.
Thanks to a helpful fellow forum member, I am picking up a set of seats tomorrow and would like to dye the seats to match the stock 0258, which must have not been a popular color, because when I reached out to Leather World Technologies for a Dye kit, I was told they do not carry that specific color codes.
They do carry a long list of other BMW specific codes:

Can someone suggest another color that may be close to 0258 blue? (if you are familiar with BMW E28 interior colors
Per BMW registry, 0258 is Pacific blue cloth, leatherette and leather. Hoping someone can tell me what BMW color in above chart is closest to Pacific blue

1988 color chart for US cars shows 0258 as pacific cloth, 0105 pacific leatherette and 0204 as pacific leather.
So if you are going to a leather company for dye, you need to use a leather dye color. I don't think they would have a dye for the cloth seats. Go with 0204. but check the interior pictures in the eye candy section to know what you would be getting. Will it match, no it is a leather blue interior color and you have a blue cloth interior but it is a lot closer than perlbeige.

Thank you for your response.
You are correct, 0258 is actually the fabric/cloth code. I have leather seats and the correct color code is 0204.
I continue to look in the ye candy section to find matching interior to mine, especially to see what it looked like in original form as my seats are badly faded.
The seats I picked up turned out of be a very nice darkish-Tan and not pearl beige (at least not how I would define pearl beige), which is a goo thing
The seats are curing with Leatherique treatment right now and once I am able to steam clean the entire carpet (after removing the seats) I will instal the seats and see how they look. I have a feeling they might look good enough for me to use them while I continue to find the correct dye.

Re: Looking for help regarding Interior Color codes (Leather
I'm the original owner of an e28 with Pacific Blue interior. When I re-dyed the seats, I cut a sample from under the rear seat where it had never been exposed to sun, and Leatherique mixed the dye to match the sample. They asked for a one inch square, and there was plenty of leather wrapped under the rear seat cushion to get that size piece. If you want, I'll be happy to send you a piece of the original leather from under my back seat as a reference. Just send me a message with the address.

Thank you for your offer and idea... I took the seats out and you are correct, lots of extra leather under the seats, still virgin and untouched.RetiredDoc wrote:I'm the original owner of an e28 with Pacific Blue interior. I will reach out of leatherique, I love their products and the new seats are "baking" in leatherique as we speak.
Thanks again
