Need Help Finding IP Timing Tools
Hello to all. I am a new 86 524td owner and I am having trouble finding the correct info on what dial indicator holder and adapter I need to get everything back where it needs to be. I purchased this car with a freshly professionally rebuilt IP and it not running. I was told that it kind of started but dont trust that. I have tried in earnest to figure out where to locate the tools and even talked to samstag to be told it would take a month to get the holder. I have read through the stickys and cant figure it out. Can anyone point out the correct tools and where to obtain them. Thanks in advance.

You are quite the mad scientist there. I looked through the entire thread and didnt see anything other that a picture of the IP with a dial on it. Did I miss something? I need to find the dial holder and insert so I can set my IP timing. I am ok on the belt timing part of the equation. Mighty impressed by your fabrication skills.

Re: Need Help Finding IP Timing Tools
Thanks for the help, I am hoping that I ordered the right tool (vw 2066) and I'll be bringing her back to life soon enough. I was raised around muscle cars and hi performance gasoline machines, but this is the first diesel I have owned. I look forward to tinkering....
