Feeler: S3:46 differential from my E34

Post by TSMacNeil »

Works great, purchased from Eric Quon (valued member)
I don't need the short gears anymore as I bought the M3 for my(self) wife.

Having the 3:23 reinstalled to save a few revs and maybe some fuel.

Asking price?

Dunno, can't recall what I paid for it...make me an offer I can't refuse, or it gets stacked with the 3:64 I have too.

*edit- my cost plus the full gear oil service it got puts the ask at $200 plus shipping.

Too much to be logical for you...
I'm selling the diff for $200, shipping to you in MIA adds another $100 FedEx ground...so $300.
I'd think you could do better locally.

If I swapped the cover, would this work on an e30? IIRC, the input flange is like a 6 bolt or something weird.

PM me please.

What do you think shipping would run to 93030 business freight address?

Does the body of the diff have the holes drilled for early style mounting or no? If no, then one would have to have them drilled or install the ring and pinion into a new case. If they are drilled, then all you have to do is swap the input and output flanges and rear cover to make it work on an E30.

Not sure on bolt holes. The diff went from Eric to Mr Kohler, to our genius Indy, and into the car. I never really saw it.
I get the car tomorrow ( with the 3:46 in the trunk) and can report specifics then.

Here's a picture of the diff. Hope that helps.
Pretty sure the input flange has to be changed for the e28, but I'm no expert.

Are there 4 bolt holes on top like the one pictured above, or is the case just flat across those bosses?
