Which Sanden AC compressor??? ANSWERED!
Which Sanden AC compressor??? ANSWERED!
Everyone says replace with a Sanden SD508 or 709...but those are the old Frame #s superseded by the newer better designs SD5H14 and SD7H15. My 535 already has the Sanden bracket installed. What no one seems to communicate in any threads is what # of SD5 or SD7. There are numerous models underneath the SD5 and 7 denoting different capacities, mounts, etc etc. I have found that SD5H14 #6664 seems to be the choice if using the SD5 series (found this on RV3 for E30s), but I'd like to use the 7 series that has a little more capacity for my E28. Does anyone know the correct # for the SD7 Sanden compressor?

Sandens come with oil in them.
For additional information go to sanden.com. There are also a lot of Chinese models called Sanden "style" compressors. They of course are cheaper and may work just as well, just be aware they are out there. Looks like they copied the US version exactly as they do with so many things.
I'm ordering my stuff from AC Parts Warehouse in TX

I have found a local guy that has a warehouse of NOS. He has a Sanden mount. Mid June I'm planning a trip to investigate. He has no inventory list, but I tested the water on 3 diff e28 parts and he had them all. He has stuff for m1s through e34. I hear junkyard are a good source but have yet to run across a sanden mount.
