I recently picked up a 1986 Bronzit 524td. It shows 173k on the odo but the engine was replaced just before it rolled over 100k under some sort of factory warranty. I am not sure of the exact situation. It has potential for sure.

When I got it it was missing the fuel tank but I drove down to the Atlanta area and picked one up from a member here. I got it installed and next I need to replace the brittle rubber bypass fuel lines between the injectors. I am not exactly sure what the future holds for this car but I am excited.
Seeing as I am new to E28s and the Turbo Diesel what is the absolutely essential maintenance I should start knocking out? My Bentley doesnt seem to cover the TD
