I'm afraid I'm not going to be any help.
I have euro headers on my M5 and therefore none of those brackets get used. What I am remembering is that bracket on the 533i I had a few years back.
Remember these drawings cover quite a few models.

No problem, and thanks for your help. I got the car in pieces with a rusted-out cat-delete pipe. With everything I've done, this car never had it so good.
I have no idea what what #14 is. #15 is a plastic clip that keeps the oxygen sensor wire away from the exhaust. #16 is supposed to bolt to the transmission but it didn't work on my car with either the Euro or U.S. systems.
I can confirm that no brackets listed in that diagram will fit on my M5. There was an early TSB for the US M5 that showed how to cobble together two BMW brackets from different models to make one bracket that would go from the trans to the downpipes.
I used to have a copy of it with the part numbers but its long gone now. Someone with access to BMW's system should be able to print it out.
