Engine bay connector styles are the same, but I don't know about actual wiring, lower connectors or resistance.

I do know the M5 cables are longer, that's what I'm after, the length.

Walt, it's a little tough to be absolute with the way these things are listed in the ETK, but it looks like P/N 12 14 1 708 618 is the sensor used on all US market Motronic e28's, 528e to M5.

As long as the wires will reach, they'll work fine
